Bethel Health & Rehabilitation Center and The Cascades Assisted Living is located on a 25 acre wooded site within Berkshire Corporate Park in Bethel, Connecticut. The 128,000 square foot facility provides a continuum of care that includes 161 skilled, rehabilitation and nursing beds, and The Cascades, consisting of 42 units of assisted living apartments.
Over half of the skilled beds are dedicated to our acclaimed short-term rehab program. There is a separate long-term care floor consisting of 60 nursing beds. Patients requiring sub-acute medical care occupy the remaining skilled beds. The majority of these patients are located in the Overlook wing, a 19-bed unit that has a piped-in oxygen system.
There are spacious and separate, dining, recreation and lounge areas dedicated to each of the skilled populations. There are 35 private bedrooms and 63 semi-private rooms. All rooms have private bathrooms. There are 38 rooms with private bathrooms and showers.
All of the skilled beds can take advantage of the 5,000 square foot therapy complex, with its spacious skylit-gym, country kitchen, interior gardens and views to outside waterfalls. Over 1,500 short-term rehab clients are discharged home every year from the skilled units.
The Cascades provides long-term and respite assisted living services to the surrounding community. There are, however, dedicated units available to short-term rehab clients whose Medicare or Insurance benefits have expired, but who may still require additional therapy and strengthening to insure a safe discharge home.
In 2007 Bethel Health Care became an affiliate of the Planetree Organization, a world-wide leader in patient/resident centered care.
We are proud of our facilities and believe that the thoughtful planning for our continuum of care provides a model for health care service. Yet, we know our success is built on the skill and dedication of our staff. Long before there were waterfalls and spacious accommodations, the staff built Bethel Health Care’s reputation for excellence. Their drive and commitment is infectious and, coupled with the positive results experienced by our residents, there is a vitality and quality of life at Bethel Health Care that
… is truly rare
… is inspirational
… challenges everyone to be better.
