Description
The Physical Therapist provides services that identify, prevent, remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. Such therapy encompasses evaluation and analysis of patients function, therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise, instruction to patient/family, and other procedures to maximize functional independence. All tasks are completed in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. In addition is general administrative, safety and educational duties, specific responsibilities of the Physical Therapist include:
- Performing physical therapy evaluations
- Planning/implementing/modifying age-appropriate PT program consistent
with MD orders, PT practice act, and department/facility policies
- Providing education, instruction and feedback to the patient/family
- Planning/implementing a PT discharge program identifying equipment,
assistance and follow-up needs
- Effective decision making and time management
Position requires a masters degree in physical therapy plus a valid CT PT.
