Description
The Occupational Therapist provides services that identify, prevent, remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on upper extremity function, maximal independence in activities of daily living, and cognitive perceptual motor function. Such treatment techniques include, but are not limited to, selected activities, modalities, exercise and instruction to patient/family to enhance overall functional performance. All tasks are completed in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. In addition to general administrative, safety and educational duties, specific responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist include:
- Performing occupational therapy evaluations
- Planning/implementing/modifying age-appropriate OT program
consistent with MD orders, OT practice act, and department/facility
policies
- Providing education, instruction and feedback to the patient/family
- Planning/implementing a OT discharge program identifying equipment,
assistance and follow-up needs
- Effective decision making and time management
Position requires degree in occupational therapy plus a valid CT occupational therapy license.
